Dean has been based in Wellington, New Zealand since 1980. Dean is also a current board member of the New Zealand Green Building Council (formed in 2006), a current board meember of the Te Hopai Trust (since 2002) and a NZIQS professional Quantity Surveyor Education Liaison representative for Massey University. Dean is also an active member on NZIQS, NZPI and NZIB. Until early 2006 Dean was also an Executive member on the board of the Property Council of New Zealand Wellington Branch (since 1999) including President from 2001 to 2003 and National Board representative from 2001 to 2006.
