We begin by determining the feasibility of the project; measuring the building and analyzing the sustainability potential in the context of your project goals. We develop metrics by which to measure success; these metrics may include or go beyond use of LEED or other rating systems. We conduct workshops with the client, design team, and significant stakeholders to develop specific design strategies and processes to ensure timely and effective achievement of sustainability goals.

During design, we provide ongoing technical support to the design team, including specifications, research, and cost and constructability advice. We utilize energy, solar and carbon modeling, as well as life-cycle cost analysis, to quantify sustainability and facilitate constructive decision-making. We review design documents and clarify project team responsibilities, ensuring that your sustainability goals are fully incorporated into project documents.

Entering the construction phase, we ensure that the construction team has the knowledge and tools to achieve your sustainability goals, and provide on-going technical support. Throughout the design and construction process, we coordinate documentation of sustainability goals; this includes facilitating LEED certification, as well as reporting on the results based on other metrics.

Once construction is complete, we conduct post occupancy evaluations to verify achievement of sustainability goals, and for continued monitoring of the building’s performance over time.
